Hope is a very unique and special place. I don’t just say that because I work here. I say that because it is true. There is only one, “Hope Ministries” even though the name appears to be plural, but there are many ministries at Hope. We have several counselors working here and each one has their own niche. They counsel in areas that they have personal experience in overcoming. One thing that sets us apart from many other programs and ministries is that none of our staff receive a paycheck for their labors. Every staff person is responsible to raise their own personal support.  We do not charge anyone for our services. They can see a counselor as often as necessary, and for as long as necessary, and we will not pressure them to pay a dime for the help they receive here. When Dick Phelps first opened the doors 30-plus years ago we were able to take advantage of some local grants that helped us keep the lights turned on and the doors open. Those grants have since dried up after Covid. To supplement the grants, we have tried to put on “one” local fundraiser every year to help fill in the gap and cover our overhead costs. In 2009 God sent Peggy Briede to Hope Ministries for help, after losing her son to a drug overdose.  After she got the help, that she desperately needed, she decided to join the staff so that she could minister to other parents who have lost loved ones to drugs. Peggy has very unique gifts and talents. In 2013 She decided to take charge and organize our yearly fundraiser. She did that every year until 2020 when Covid put a stop to it. That year we decided to use the GO FUND ME vehicle to raise the money Hope needed to keep the lights on, and the doors open for the coming year. That worked so well and has kept Hope floating until now. Since Peggy moved to North Carolina a few years ago, we have no one with the gifting that she had, to plan and organize a fundraiser. In the past year bills have been going up, for all our overhead expenses, and our funds are going down. So, without our miracle-working Peggy here to organize a local fundraiser for us, we have decided to go again with the GO-FUND-ME method to try to raise the funds we will need for the upcoming year. God bless you and thank you for your support-Lew
